At Alaska Litho, we work to reduce our carbon footprint by using hydroelectric for our shop, including all our heating and our electric delivery vehicle. In 2019 we also became a Supporting Partner of the Juneau Carbon Offset Fund to offset more carbon. We just received this certificate showing our impact in 2019.
We’re excited to be a part of carbon elimination projects completed this year that have taken more than 1,200 annual gallons of heating oil out of the equation, for an annual CO2 reduction of nearly 13.5 tons. Two lower-income Juneau homes are now enjoying the warm, clean and dry heat of air source heat pumps, powered by Juneau’s renewable hydroelectricity. And, two more homes will be oil-free in a matter of weeks.
