Sign & Vinyl Production and Installation Specialist

Job Overview

Alaska Litho is seeking an experienced, dependable Sign & Vinyl Production and Installation Specialist to join our growing signage and large-format department in Juneau, Alaska.

This is a hands-on production and installation position for someone who takes pride in accurate, professional work. The successful candidate will produce, finish, and install vinyl graphics, signs, banners, decals, window graphics, wall graphics, vehicle graphics, dimensional lettering, and related display products.

We are looking for someone with professional sign-production or vinyl-installation experience who understands surface preparation, material selection, measuring, layout, finishing, and proper application techniques. The ideal candidate can manage projects carefully from production through final installation while maintaining high standards for appearance, durability, and workmanship.

Pay: $28.00–$38.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Relocation: Assistance may be available for a highly qualified candidate

Key Responsibilities

  • Install cut vinyl, printed vinyl, decals, window graphics, wall graphics, and vehicle graphics.
  • Produce signs and graphics using wide-format printers, laminators, plotter-cutters, and related equipment.
  • Weed, mask, trim, mount, laminate, and finish vinyl graphics.
  • Prepare installation surfaces and select appropriate vinyl, adhesives, laminates, transfer tapes, and application methods.
  • Install dimensional lettering, sign panels, banners, and other interior and exterior signage.
  • Measure job sites accurately and confirm dimensions before production.
  • Read and follow job tickets, drawings, proofs, layouts, and installation instructions.
  • Inspect completed work for alignment, adhesion, color accuracy, damage, and overall quality.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, designers, and production staff.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, materials, vehicles, and an organized production area.
  • Perform installations from ladders and lifts when required.
  • Assist with general large-format production and finishing as workload requires.
  • Identify potential installation or production problems before they result in wasted material, reprints, or delays.
  • Represent Alaska Litho professionally while working at customer locations.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of professional sign production, vinyl installation, vehicle graphics, or closely related experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional candidates with strong transferable installation, fabrication, construction, or finishing skills will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience installing vinyl graphics, large decals, window graphics, wall graphics, or vehicle graphics.
  • Working knowledge of vinyl types, adhesives, laminates, transfer tapes, substrates, and surface-preparation requirements.
  • Experience operating wide-format printers, laminators, plotter-cutters, and common sign-production tools is strongly preferred.
  • Strong measuring, layout, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce straight, clean, properly aligned, and bubble-free installations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete projects accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and professional.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on ladders and lifts and perform physical installation work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work safely in changing Southeast Alaska weather conditions when installations require it.
