Gastineau Channel Memories 1880-1959

The Pioneer Book Committee felt much of our area’s history was being lost and needed to be recorded.

Beginning in 1999 they sent over a thousand letters to early Gastineau Channel area families, inviting them to write their stories. They asked what originally brought folks to this area, when and from where they had come, how they had gotten here, and what they did once they were here.

The volume includes 290 articles about 350 local families, and it is organized alphabetically by family name.
